Welcome message and presentation of the Master, by its Director, Associate Professor Ms. Chrysoula Chatzigeorgiou:

The study program of the Interdepartmental Master in the Management of Health & Welfare Units was developed after close cooperation with experts and professors of A.E.I. of Greece and abroad, specialized in matters of health unit management, policy and strategy of health and welfare as well as health economics. Furthermore, sectoral and scientific bodies of the three levels of education as well as Greek and foreign universities participated in the development of the Master. High-quality teaching is offered in flexible forms of education. In this way, the working graduate student is given the opportunity to harmoniously combine work and studies and to develop to a greater extent his knowledge and skills in various areas of the administration of health and welfare units of all levels, forms and categories.

The object of this Interdepartmental Master’s Program is the production of knowledge in the scientific field of the Administration of Health & Welfare Units on the one hand and its transmission to the postgraduate students who will attend it, thus achieving the widest purpose, which is the provision at all levels of health and welfare of high-level executives who can satisfy the requirements of public and private health units for qualified human resources in matters of administration, organization and strategy, policy and planning of health, evaluation and certification of processes and systems, and health economics. Furthermore, they contribute to upgrading the operation of health and welfare units at all levels and consequently to the sustainable social and economic development of Greece.

The Master’s courses are taught by leading professors from the Departments of the International Hellenic University that co-organize it (Department of Organization Management, Marketing & Tourism and Department of Nursing) as well as from various universities in Greece, who fully cover all subjects of the courses. In addition, our postgraduate students are provided with a comprehensive program of seminar lectures by expert scientists and senior executives of health agencies and organizations.

The entire team of professors as well as the administrative staff of this Master, we are constantly working so that the program successfully satisfies in the most modern and flexible way both the requirements of the master’s students and the needs of workers in the health sector, public and of private health and welfare units, and finally of the wider Greek society!
